 The Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance of the University of Luxembourg has an opening for a Doctoral candidate (PhD student) in law (M/F)

A specialisation is foreseen in European Business law (law of Cooperatives, Associative law, Mutuals law…), Development law or European private law (European Property law, European Contract law…)

3-year fixed-term contract, renewable once (up to a total of 4 years maximum), 40h/week.

Tasks

  • The doctoral candidate will be working within the Research Unit of Law. The doctoral candidate is expected to contribute to research projects in the area of business law Particular interest in inter-disciplinary approach would be an asset.

  • The candidate’s main task will be to prepare a doctoral thesis in the field of business law, under the supervision of Professor David Hiez. The thesis has to be undertaken at the University of Luxembourg but can also be part of a joint supervision with another university.

  • Contribute to the teaching of classes ranging from one to three hours per week, of small group teachings and tutorials.

Profile

  • Master’s degree in Law

  • Have the linguistic skills to evolve in a multilingual environment: fluency in either English or French, good understanding of the second language and possibly a third language, German in particular, will be considered an advantage.
